I had a phone interview with the principal on Tuesday and she told me that to her surprise she's had numerous people interested in the position. That was surprising to me too since in the beginning I was led to believe if I wanted it, it was mine.
I haven't heard back from her and since she said she would make her decision that day, I'm left to assume I won't be getting it.
I'm still going to be taking the Parapro exam tomorrow and I'll be doing the substitute certification next month. I'm also going by the school district office today to get an out of zone request for Madison. They have to be turned in by March 28th and this particular school is 15 minutes closer to the house than the one we're zoned for. It's also the one I'd prefer to work at, so I'll be trying to shove my foot in those heavy double doors any way I can.
