Crank it up

I wasn't the only cranky gym goer this morning. Others like me, carrying around their own extra 5 pounds from the holiday, hit the gym today with their heads down and Ipods turned up.
My quietness this morning wasn't caused by a mood, just a lot going on in my mind. The main space filler came to a screaching halt when I got home however.
Over the holiday break I had started my application for a substitute teaching position in our county. My hope was to work a little bit in each of the four elementary schools this Spring and keep my ears open for a full time position in the school system that I could start in the Fall. That would give me an up close chance to get to know the schools before sending Madison to one. It would also give me a chance to know if there's one school over the others that I'd like to work at. My long term hope is to work in the school system in some capacity so I can enjoy the weekends, holidays and summers with the girls.
But, I just found out that the certification class set for February is full and the next one isn't scheduled until the summer.
So, I'm back to square one. I did get a call last night about a position opening up in the next week or two, but that's a full time position and I just don't think I'm ready to send Chloe to daycare yet.
I think I'll join the head-down-Ipod-up group tomorrow morning.
