Berry fun day!
I feel like I have strawberries coming out of my ears. Madison’s school finished up their fundraiser and we picked up our strawberries yesterday. I am SO glad I only bought one flat. It was 12 pints in a flat and up until last night I had no idea how much that actually was. I used 6 pints for jam, 2 pints have been washed, hulled and frozen for use in some homemade strawberry ice cream later in the week. 1 pint became chocolate covered strawberries and I still have 3 pints left for eating plain.
I never made jam before today and I feel pretty good that I tried. I talked to my mom, who canned like mad when I was a kid, and I just figured I’d give it a whirl today. Thankfully it was a lot easier than I thought it would be, although it’s a very messy project! The ironic thing is that I actually don’t like strawberry jelly or jam. I could put a hurtin’ on blackberry jam though so that will be next once the blackberries are in season.

That's the site I used to make mine. After talking with mom it's the method she recommended.
