We had Madison's appointment yesterday, but over the weekend our worries were relieved quite a bit when two of the bumps nearly went away completely. It makes a diagnosis all the more difficult, but seeing them go away does wonders to my concerns. Her doctor really has no idea. He told us when he got back in the office they handed him the ultrasounds and told him about her, he started looking up some things, but really doesn't know for sure what they are. One of the four that is still there happens to be the first one that appeared and he said the radiologist noted there was a lymph node in that one. His guess is that they're her body's response to something. Maybe hematomas resulting from her hitting her shins hard on something. He agrees that's a stretch since there weren't any bruises. The other thought is they are some type of immunologic response to something. He tested her for strep and tuberculosis. The strep was negative and we go back tomorrow for the TB tests.
I just can't tell you how relieved I am to see them going away. His only other suggestion was a biopsy of one of them and he would refer us to a dermatologist for that if necessary.
So, we'll get the TB results, monitor them and see a dermatologist if the other two don't dissolve or more come up.
